A family saga centering on women, told through song: co-created by Uljana Quartet, director Anna Korom and cinematographer Flóra Fecske, this atmospheric piece was one of last year’s Ritmo highlights. The story unfolds as the band play, bleeding into one another, in a series of striking scenes. Created in close cooperation with Uljana, the film is evocative of collective memories with an eye-pleasing finish.
Дeva’s slowly undulating folk-based electronica evokes dreamy-like imagery, no wonder Marcell Bajor and Bence Szemerey dreamed up a five-part etude. The ephemeral presence of the singer guides us through a journey momentous yet abstract, subtly referencing Plato. A spell-binding creation as unique as the voice of its heroine.
The screening is jointly presented by Müpa Budapest and Hangvető in the framework of the Bartók Spring.
