The world-renowned opera soloist will perform one of his most popular programs of classical music, featuring the best-known and most-beloved arias from opera literature. This evocative and charming star tenor will dazzle the audience with his rich and varied repertoire, including pieces by, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Gounod, Massenet and Offenbach. He has played at the world’s most illustrious opera houses, and now the audience at Margaret Island Open-Air Stage can hear him in the summer of 2019!

Considered one of the world’s best tenors, Vittorio Grigolo combines exceptional singing skills with model-level good looks. After playing the role of Cavaradossi in Tosca at London’s Covent Garden in May/June of 2019, he will arrive in Hungary to showcase his unique talents at the Budapest Summer Festival. His debut on Margaret Island will be preceded by a number of other performances. In January 2019, he will play Cavaradossi for the Vienna State Opera. Then, he will be heard at Manhattan’s Metropolitan Opera in his highly praised rendition of the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto.

Our offer

Taking the stage at Müpa Budapest on this evening will be the creative spirit Philippe Herreweghe joined by the world-famous workshops he founded: the Collegium Vocale Gent and the Orchestre des Champs-Elysées.

In each of their creative musical statements, the female performers who formed the group in Bamako ten years ago have spoken out for women's rights and the eradication of violence. Their rich, melodic music combines stylistic elements of pan-African traditions and contemporary pop songs.
