Egyszerre politikai dráma, krimi és szerelmi história, amely a 15. század közepének izgalmas történelmi eseményeit eleveníti meg, bemutatva a Hunyadi család felemelkedését.
1905. Elárverezik a párizsi Operaház teljes hajdani berendezéseit. Többek között egy csillárt, amely a kikiáltó szerint egy máig sem tisztázott baleset okozója volt. A baleset tetteseként az Operaház titokzatos Fantomját emlegették.
Adott egy fiatal férfi, akinek az apja meghalt, az anyja pedig szinte azonnal újból férjhez ment. Gyanús. Hamletben zavaros indulatok dolgoznak, és miközben kétségbeesetten próbál beszélni arról, amit érez, hirtelen olyan helyzetben találja magát, amiből nem látszik kiút. Jó lenne kiszállni pedig, és elmenni innen messzire, mert ha maradunk, abba csak beleőrülni lehet. Beszélgetni kéne, de nincs idő, nincs energia, hogy jobban odafigyeljünk egymásra. Ennek pedig – sejthetjük – nem lesz jó vége.
