Esszencia: Bettina Bánki, Áron Lakatos – voice, Róbert Lakatos – violin, Tamás Kunos – viola, Árpád Kiss – trumpet, Marcel Comendant – cimbalom, János Rigó – double bass

Pál István Szalonna and his Band: Eszter Pál – voice, István Szalonna Pál, Tamás Gombai – violin, Gyula Karacs – viola, Attila Gera – wind instruments, Sándor Ferenc Ürmös – cimbalom, Róbert Doór – double bass

Esszencia have been enchanting audiences for ten years: their original, virtuosic music, which fuses classical and folk music, leaves ample room for improvisation. István Szalonna Pál and his Band are among the most committed and trustworthy interpreters of authentic Hungarian folk music. On this evening, the two formations will take to the stage together and will engage in friendly ‘duels’ of the instruments. In the programme, heart-rending slow melodies will alternate with bravura dances and jaunty csardases. Esszencia will also feature jazz singers and one of the world’s best jazz cimbalom players, Marcel Comendant.
