World-famous Muzsikás take the stage on Saturday, joined by fellow-folk authorities Muzykanci from Poland. The likeness in names comes from musical parallels: the Hungarian Dance-house pioneers inspired their Polish counterparts as the unique show attests. Gili Yalo, one of the most thrilling debuts of recent years puts Ethio funk into present tense, while Trio Da Kali give a precious introduction to the age-old griot culture of Mali. Balkan brass is brought to you by Ekrem Mamutović and his band, and the award-winning brass orchestra is sure to make the crowd dance. Expect the unexpected from the rising star of Finnish kantele, Maija Kauhanen; tune in to Slovenian hipster folk by Širom; close the evening bouncing to border-crossing mixes by DJ Ipek.
