Sascha Ring, who works under the pseudonym Apparat, is a leading artist of German electronic music. Starting his career in techno dance music, he found his true voice in ambient, as he became “more interested in designing sounds than beats.” Along his solo projects, he is also a member of Moderat, a formation he established with Modeselektor, a techno duo.

Moderat was a big stage act, and “meant I could unburden Apparat from these aspirations. I don’t have to write big pop hymns here; I can just immerse myself in the details and the structures.”

With the 2013 Krieg und Frieden being Sascha Ring’s last major release, he had considerable time for immersion and maturing the material of the new record. Released in the spring of 2019, LP5 features cellist Philipp Thimm, as well as a trombone, trumpet, saxophone, harp, and double bass player.

An event jointly organized with Selected Sounds.

Our offer

The world premiere of László Dubrovay's dance drama Faust, the Damned took place at Müpa Budapest in 2016, as part of the Budapest Spring Festival. This large-scale production inspired by Goethe's masterpiece debuted on the main stage of the National Theatre of Pécs in the 2023/24 season, and will run again in 2024 at Müpa Budapest's Festival Theatre.

A magical meeting of two anniversaries on the Müpa Budapest stage: the Talamba Percussion Group is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with a 21st-century arrangement of a piano cycle by Mussorgsky's piano cycle Pictures of an Exhibition as it turns 150 itself: following on the heels of Emerson, Lake & Palmer and Isao Tomita with their versions, they are presenting their own take on the 19th-century masterpiece, this one revised for percussion and electronica, and featuring DJ Bootsie.

Az előadás a műfajtól megszokott módon nincs híján humornak, játékosságnak, A mosoly országa a kibékíthetetlen világnézeti ellentétek, kulturális és társadalmi különbségek komoly kérdéseit járja körül, és ez a világ első operettje, mely nem vidám végkifejlettel zárul.
