Opening performance of the SISSI Dance Week Autumn

“I am happy to recommend the creative night of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble’s young dancer-choreographers, which was – mostly – put together from their various award-winning compositions. Szilvia Nemes, György Ágfalvi and Zoltán Zsuráfszky Jr. are characteristic, outstanding dancers, who are not only distinctive figures of the Ensemble’s image, but also promising talents of the future’s choreographer generation. I have been observing them for many years now, and I can see how their views on the surrounding world are taking form, how they acquire expertise in their profession, how their dancer “vocabulary”, form repertoire, composition skills, musicality, dramaturgy knowledge are expanding. How they try to overcome themselves, how they fight against old habits to be able to raise their voices in a sovereign and personal manner. They are colourful individuals and this is also reflected in their works. At times they tend towards the grotesque, at others they marvel in playfulness, but they can be dramatic and moving, too. Sometimes tradition is obvious in their scenes, at others it only appears in a hidden form. Ottó Orbán once wrote in a footnote a long-long time ago about one of the Ensemble’s performances: “The show is radiant with the creative cheek of youth”.  What else could I wish to my young students for their carriers than more “cheek” and more “creation”.

"A three-course gourmet menu" was how the Bachtrack critic described Paavo Järvi's concert, which featured pieces by Sibelius, Tüür and Beethoven. The Grammy Award-winning Estonian-American conductor is coming to the BFO with a similarly exciting program.

A német ifjúsági irodalom egyik legnépszerűbb műve, Otfried Preuβler Krabat című regénye lebilincselően izgalmas történet barátságról, közösségről, varázslatról és felnőtté válásról. A filmen és színpadon is többször feldolgozott, klasszikus történet vadonatúj bábszínházi adaptációját Kali Ágnes és Hegymegi Máté írja.
