The evoked era in the performance coincides with the time of the original premiere of Swan Lake. At the same time the second half of the 19th century was also a period known for the spreading of mental hospitals; patients 'possessed' by animal spirits and treatments of mental illnesses by torture and other bizarre methods.

The idea for The Nutcracker ballet came from theone-time director of the Tsarist theatre who, based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s fairy tale entitled the Nutcracker and the Mouse King, wanted to stage a fairy tale ballet that would surpass all that had gone before, both in sound and in spectacle. Tchaikovsky was asked to compose the music and after Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty his third and final ballet was also a great success. It was the six-movement suite of the music of The Nutcracker that was first performed in March 1892, and in December of the same year the spectacularly presented theatrical work was also performed. The Nutcracker has become the most frequently played ballet piece of all time.

A betyárok a magyar néphagyomány legizgalmasabb alakjai. Történeteik átszövik népdalainkat, mondáinkat, balladáinkat, sőt, még népművészetünk tárgyi emlékei is őrzik az emléküket. Nem csoda, hogy a nép emlékezetében sokszor már-már hősként élnek tovább – ők a „magyar Robin Hoodok”.

Compared to Swan Lake, the well-known version of the classical ballet, I wished to rephrase the piece from another aspect, in a different light. In my interpretation, Siegfried is a young man with a split mind, who is being held captive by the traumas of his childhood as a result of his relationship with his mother.

Two misunderstood people starved for love who in their own way have taken on a role to protect themselves from disappointment. However, neither of them could have imagined that on that particular day in Oradea, their meeting would lead to a new and passionate romance... one that would sweep them both away and shake Hungarian literature to its very foundations.

Two deceptively similar suitcases end up in the wrong hands. That is how the characters embark on an adventurous journey full of complications, misunderstandings, and comic situations, where no one is quite who they seem to be. In the confusion, the threads become fatally tangled.

A déli Tisza-vidék nemzetiségeinek tánckultúrája, a Viharsarok magyar-román-cigány lakta falvainak kiemelkedő táncos alakjai és az ott fellelhető eredeti táncanyag különleges világa elevenedik meg Élő Táncarchívumunk következő műsorában. Az előadásban, a vidék sokszínű kulturális hagyományainak hiteles megjelenítése mellett, eddig soha nem látott táncokat és ritkán hallott zenei anyagot is láthat a közönség az autentikus tánc- és zenei válogatás színpadi megfogalmazása során.

This production of the FrenÁk Company features adynamic team, the members of a new generation. The young, creative dancers draw on the energies of their colourful cultural and linguistic differences as they bring a new creative approach to FrenÁk’s concept. It is a fusion of the arts, a multimedia work with two contrasting yet complementary parts that reflect on the contradictions of our times.

Ever since God gave Adam a companion, fashioned from his rib, in Paradise, the order of the world has been that no one should live alone. Its modality has taken dozens of shades over the millennia since then: cohabitation, bigamy, polygamy, polyandry, all the way until we come to the most familiar form today.
