Although Wagner's mature masterpiece, which he wrote after Tristan but before completing the Ring, is officially a comic opera and doesn't stint on entertainment, it is nevertheless much more complex, dealing with youth and old age, love and friendship, art and craft, as well as innovation and conservativism.

Olaszországi kirándulást ígér zenekarunk hangversenye, amely a XIX. század ünnepelt nagybőgővirtuózát, Giovanni Bottesinit is megidézi egy romantikus operabetét erejéig. Ezután Paganini komoly és mély érzelmeket is kifejező h-moll hegedűversenye következik. A darab lassú tételét, mely egy szívhez szóló imádság, két, hangszeres bravúrokkal teli tétel keretezi, majd egy népszerű nápolyi dal feldolgozását halljuk, a „La campanella”-t („Harangok”).

The Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel is one of the greatest opera singers of our time. Having given us several chances to hear him at Müpa Budapest before, this time he is coming as a guest of the Budapest Wagner Days festival purely to evoke extraordinary moments from the great German composer’s operas.

The Daveform Quintet, who are well-versed in the genre of modern jazz, have captured the attention of their peers with their unique sound and ecstatic music, which unites musical landscapes and styles. The group was founded after an encounter between some exceptional performers and composers who – through their individual achievements – have already demonstrated their ability on the international stage.

George Gershwin (New York, Brooklyn, 1898. szeptember 26. – Beverly Hills, 1937. július 11.) amerikai zeneszerző, zongorista, kompozíciói a szórakoztató zene, dzsessz és a komolyzene műfajain ívelnek át. Az amerikai folklórból is építkező Gershwin egyike a 20. század jelentős zeneszerző egyéniségeinek.

Her expressive voice capable of conveying profound emotions and refined sentiments, her virtuoso improvisation, and her brave, experimental combinations of styles have now come to represent a point of reference to a new generation.

Barabás Lőrinc trombitás és zeneszerző a budapesti improvizatív zenei élet egyik meghatározó szereplője és mozgatórugója közel két évtizede. Ezen az estén ismét a több formációból, többek között az Irie Maffiából ismert énekesnővel, Sena Dagaduval egészülnek ki, akivel a kétezres években közösen készített Barabás Lőrinc Eklektric számokat is felelevenítik majd.

Whims of a Star is far from the outstanding Hungarian pianist Zoltán Fejérvári, who, through quiet but persistent and hard work, has sold out and celebrated concerts both in Hungary and abroad. With the same devotion and firm talent, the Liszt Prize-winning musician successfully re-established the focus of musical interest in the artistic legacy of the 20th-century Hungarian composer, Sándor Veress.
