Tickets to their concert on 9 October sold out almost right away, so Andreas Vollenweider and his friends will return to Müpa Budapest to meet the enormous demand on 17 October.

Wandering Gypsies leading adventurous lives and gallant yet ridiculous nobles abusing their power are the main characters of the animated film Szaffi. This adaptation of Mór Jókai's classic novel The Gypsy Baron is by now familiar to several generations of Hungarians.

Using an electroacoustic harp of his own design to play his tranquil, hypnotic, gently melodic and primarily instrumental songs, the Swiss Grammy-winner Andreas Vollenweider has stood among the giants of the New Age scene since the late ’70s.

„A legnagyobb művésznek sincs oly álma, / amit ne zárna bármely kocka márvány / önnön feleslegébe…”

The music to one of the most successful films of recent years and one of the most popular television series of all time were both scored by South Korea’s Jung Jae-il.

Evoking the excitement of anticipation and waltzing with angels in the bright starlight, to playfully immerse yourself in the Christmas wonderland.

A filmzene műfaja egyidős a mozgóképpel: már a némafilmeket is kísérte zongora vagy orgona – hol improvizációval, hol ismert klasszikusokkal. A későbbiek során pedig számos olyan mű vált filmzenévé, amely eredetileg teljesen más célból született.

A december végi időpont ellenére forró estére számíthatnak, akik ellátogatnak a Söndörgő harmincéves jubileumi koncertjére.

The members of any orchestra feel most confident playing under the batons of conductors who know from personal experience the ins and outs of performing instrumental music.

The Kossuth Prize-winning pianist János Balázs was 13 when he was accepted to the Liszt Academy of Music's Special School for Exceptional Young Talents in 2002. By the time he finished at the university, he had racked up victories at six international piano competitions.

Rembetiko is often referred to as the “Greek blues”. This traditional music with foundations in Asia minor and incorporating elements of Greek folklore, nonetheless, has deep roots in urban culture.

What child hasn’t imagined a playful wedding with a bride, a groom, a best man and wedding guests? At the latest children’s concert by Szilvia Bognár, a familiar face for Müpa’s young audience, this dream becomes reality – complete with plenty of laughter, cheeky songs, teasing games and musical madness!

It has been a long time since we thought of Cécile McLorin Salvant as merely the promising winner of the 2010 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition. Her expressive voice capable of conveying profound emotions and refined sentiments, her virtuoso improvisation, and her brave, experimental combinations of styles have now come to represent a point of reference to a new generation.

Adventi válogatás több száz év zeneirodalmából

Úgy tűnik, a hazai popzenei életbe nemrég berobbant Saya Noé munkásságáról az utóbbi évek alapján egyet már biztosan elmondhatunk: mindig meglepi a közönségét.

Veronika Harcsa’s response to the relentless growth of AI: IA, that is, InterAction.

Soutoungoumba Diarra, aka Djely Tapa, originally moved from Mali to Canada to study aeronautics. It soon became clear to her, however, that she could not escape the family tradition of making music she had picked up during childhood.

There are times when it is not silence that makes us recall something, but music. A familiar sound. A melody that takes you home. On All Souls' Day, we think not only of those who are no longer with us, but also of what they left us with: stories, scents, sentences, sounds.

Három színésznő. Három díva. Különböző hangok. Különböző színházi szerepek. Különböző zenei gyökerek. Ami közös bennük, hogy ízig-vérig nők a színpadon is, és ízig-vérig női dalokkal ünneplik a Nők Lapja születésnapját. Francia, amerikai, görög és magyar szerzők dalai a nőkről, három csodás művész előadásában. A koncertet Kovács Adrián zeneszerző-karmester és zenekara kíséri.

An international collection of soloists gathers for this All Saints’ Day celebration to sing the requiems by Michael Haydn and Antonio Salieri with the world-famous Zürcher Sing-Akademie and the Orfeo Orchestra.

Blessed with a ‘golden voice’, Jonathan Tetelman’s meteoric career has taken him to the world’s leading opera houses, while his records have picked up a succession of awards. We heard him alongside Elīna Garanča in 2021 at Müpa Budapest, and he has since become one of the most sought-after singers of Puccini.

Drumming is fun. It has helped forge communities for thousands of years, even among those who are not necessarily music enthusiasts. Károly Fehér and the members of the Ethnosound team's Drumming Experience session is also based on an ancient human characteristic.

In the 25 years since the foundation of the Balázs Elemér Group, the band has celebrated every significant anniversary at Müpa Budapest.

Two trumpets at the same time? Now that’s a party! Gábor Boldoczki and Sergei Nakariakov arrive in mid-December bearing an ideally timed sonic gift in advance of the lights of the upcoming Christmas holiday.
