Gergő Borlai: Divided 3 / JAZZ WORKSHOP

With any show bearing the name Gergő Borlai - a Hungarian who splits his time between Los Angeles and Barcelona - we can look forward to an engaging stage dialogue between virtuoso musicians. It will be no different with Divided 3.

Gergő Borlai: Divided 3 / JAZZ WORKSHOP

Few other musicians are capable of playing melody-centred music with such a spirit of free improvisation. Yet for Gergő and his international group, melody and improvisation are both fundamental creative mediums. Though the audience will mostly hear the songs of Gergő Borlai and Nguyên Lê during the concert, you can also expect some improvised duos and trios to break out at any moment.

It is fair to say that all the members of the current Divided 3 team are extremely versatile musicians, at home with the widest array of musical styles and capable of identifying countless points of mutual connection. The guitarist Nguyên Lê - who is of Vietnamese origin - and the French bass guitarist Romain Labaye both hail from Paris and have worked together since 2012. Labaye has collaborated with Lê on the Dark Side Nine, Songs of Freedom and Jimi's Back! productions. The two have also both considered Gergő Borlai one of their key partners for many years. Together, they are capable of intuitive, almost telepathic play. Lê has regularly played alongside Peter Erskine, Paolo Fresu and Uri Caine, while Labaye has earned exceptional recognition primarily as the bassist for Scott Henderson. The circle is closed by the brilliant Russian violinist Anna Rakita, who in addition to her classical education also studied plenty of jazz as a teenager. Her debut album was released in 2009. Andrea Ladányi, the (creative) partner of the headline act, literally breathes at one with the music on the stage and adds yet another dimension to the show.

Aranyosi Péter önálló estjében közéleti kérdéseket boncolgatva elmeséli, hogyan is boldogul egy magafajta ötvenes a felgyorsult, közösségi oldalakkal és PIN kódokkal átszőtt digitális világunkban.
